The Changelings' Terra Firma and Amphibian available now

]]> Middle Pillar proudly presents the long awaited re-issues the last two classic out of print albums by The Changelings. These albums personify the lush sound that defined the band during the 90’s. Digitally re-mastered to fully expand their orchestrations, multi-layered gorgeous female vocals, violin and exotic Middle Eastern/ Neo-Classical melodies & tribal rhythms.

The band’s fascination with elemental themes (earth & water) begins with Terra Firma, which features the classic tracks “Johnny Ether’s Great Escape” and “Salome” and contains a bonus secret track at the end. Music from this album appeared on the History Channel special Beyond the Da Vinci Code. Amphibian, explores water themes and contains “Maelcum’s Righteous Dub,” “Port Royale” (a jaunty pirate tale) and “Oceana the Mermaid Song.” As an addendum, the Mercury EP appears as bonus tracks, never before on this album.

The re-mastering process brightens these albums which epitomize the sound of The Changelings and brilliantly highlight the transcendent vocals of Regeana Morris as well as the instrumentation of the eclectic group. Timeless and worldly, Terra Firma and Amphibian stand as ethereal masterpieces and sound as fresh today as when they were originally released.

Both albums appear in the digipak format with printed lyrics.

We're pleased to have the last remaining copies of the original pressing by this premiere ethereal band. While out of stock for years, some copies of Frames of Teknicolor were recently found and returned to us from an overseas distributor.

Frames of Teknicolor features the extraordinary vocal talents of Kit Messick, (former member of Unto Ashes), and music by the equally talented Babbo. The then duo were joined by guest vocalists Mark Steiner (Piker Ryan / Kundera) and Mary Murphy, with mixing and aural sculpture by A Murder of Angels' Bryin Dall and Derek Rush.

Mirabilis Interview

Re-Gen Magazine has published an very in-depth interview with Dru Allen and Summer Bowman of Mirabilis. (Be patient, it takes a coupla secs to load). Learn how they collaborate as writers, what’s happening with This Ascension and the Machine in the Garden, and how being a tri-athlete is goth! Plus more then just a few words on their upcoming new release, "Sub Rosa," which is set to be released late Fall 2007. It's a great read!

Friends at Convergence 13

Next weekend the Convergence 13 dark culture festival gathers in Portland, OR. Among the many friends and performers we'll be missing, (sniff!), will be Dru Allen, Soriah and Paul Mercer.

First up, Paul Mercer of The Changelings will be helping to open the weekend-long party with a special performance at Friday's (May 25th) Official C13 Reception / Meet & Greet, which begins 2 PM.

Then fast forward a bit as Dru (of Mirabilis and This Ascension) will be opening for Soriah (aka Enrique of Sumerland) on Sunday, May 27 at the Victorian Sunday Mourning Rehydration Service at The Old Church beginning at 1PM.

The service will just be one unique event over a weekend of performances and festivities which include Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly, and Faith & The Muse. Plus film festivals, art and fashion shows, panels (!?) ... and drinking! Huzzah!
