What can you do?

Please donate to the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Fund at The American Red Cross, at the American Red Cross in Greater New York or at your local Red Cross chapter.

Due to the effects of hurricane Katrina tens of thousands of people in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama are homeless and without water or food. While this large area of the Gulf Coast was wracked by Hurricane Katrina the damage is still increasing in New Orleans due to severe flooding in the city. More than 80% of the city is currently flooded with untold structural damage and expected loss of life. While music always makes me feel better, and New Orleans was about the music (and the food!) sometimes you gotta give back. If you can, please go to the Red Cross web site or call 1-800 HELP-NOW and make a donation to the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Fund.

Do to the heavy volume of hits you might have problems getting through to the national site. I recommend using your local chapter to make the donation. I used the American Red Cross in Greater New York web site. Also, it’s much faster to do a Google or a Yahoo search to find your local chapter than it is going through the Red Cross homesite at this time.
